Qualifications and Experience
The successful applicant will have the following qualifications and experience : A certificate of qualification from the Teacher Regulation Branch Demonstrated experience and qualifications as outlined by the Ministry of Education English Language Learning Policy and Guidelines University level coursework (300-400 level) in applied linguistics for English Language Learners and / or teaching certification for teaching ELL Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with classroom teachers and specialists Current knowledge of best practices for supporting ELL learners in the classroom Inclusive Pedagogy : Familiarity withinclusive pedagogy and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment Cultural Competence : Awareness of cultural differences and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly. Differentiated Instruction : Ability to tailor instruction to meet the diverse needs of ELL students. Assessment Strategies : Knowledge of formative and summative assessment techniques for ELLs. Collaboration Skills : Willingness to work with other educators, parents, and support staff to address student needs.
