ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is a well-established BC based developer who deals with both residential and commercial properties and new builds.

They have earned an outstanding reputation for their innovative approaches to projects and new developments.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role involves working collaboratively to ensure financial compliance and providing support to junior accounting staff. The ideal candidate will possess extensive accounting experience, strong analytical abilities, and a collaborative spirit.

Reporting to the controller, responsibilities will consist of :

  • Perform full-cycle Accounts Payable, including matching invoices, obtaining approvals, preparing and processing cheques.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable, including rent collection, vendor / tenant management, and payment processing.
  • Reconcile petty cash.
  • Maintain property management accounts and construction / development projects.
  • Review preliminary monthly statements and generate financial reports for monthly reporting.
  • Prepare monthly and annual journal entries, accounts receivable adjustments, GST reconciliation, and other related entries for mortgages and leases.
  • Prepare documentation for cost recoveries, common area management audits, and tenant chargebacks, and respond to tenant inquiries.
  • Post and reconcile rent rolls.
  • Prepare and review bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare year-end review and compilation working paper files.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • A university degree or college diploma in Accounting, CPA designation preferred.
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in Property Management and Real Estate Development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, from intermediate to advanced levels.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing external audits and collaborating with auditors.
  • COMPENSATION :

  • 75,000-$95,000
