Registered Social Worker or Psychotherapist

Independent Contractor

Minden, ON. (2 days / month)

Napanee, ON. (5 hours / month)

In collaboration with the Ministry of the Solicitor General, we are seeking a registered social worker or psychotherapist with experience supporting marginalized folks dealing with complex life challenges including mental health, addictions, social exclusion, and involvement with the justice system.

The Opportunity :

An independent contract providing in-person counselling to assigned cases referred by the Ministry of the Solicitor General, in a probation and parole office.

Our Gov't Services Counsellors :

Support mandated clients by providing medium-term counselling to assigned cases;

Communicate on clients' behalf, with express consent, with external professionals;

Follow the Government Counselling Services client services model and administrative requirements;

Meet the company's contractual obligations to the Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario.

What we're looking for :

Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology or Social Work;

Professional College membership in Ontario and valid professional liability insurance;

Minimum two (2) years post-graduate counselling experience;

Ability to work with various types of clients presenting a wide variety of issues and good knowledge of local community resources;

Strong clinical assessment skills with ability to promote community adaptation and integration;

Ability to set short term objectives and work from a strength-based model;

Availability to provide in person support during business hours.
