TRS Staffing Solutions has exciting opportunities for an Electrical Designer role to work for one of Canada's top employers and a global leader in the Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management industry.
Responsibilities:
- Support field teams with design clarifications and respond to RFIs during construction.
- Review vendor documentation and equipment data to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
- Participate in design reviews, incorporating feedback and resolving design issues as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of material take-offs and support procurement with technical input.
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to project deliverables in accordance with quality standards and schedules.
- Collaborate with engineers and other designers to develop electrical layouts, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Prepare and revise 2D electrical drawings and contribute to 3D model development using industry-standard CAD tools.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or technical certification in Electrical Design, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in electrical design within industrial sectors (e.g., mining, oil & gas, energy, or heavy infrastructure).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SmartPlant, or similar CAD platforms; familiarity with 3D model review tools is an asset.
- Solid understanding of electrical codes and standards (e.g., CSA, NEC, IEEE).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Knowledge of bulk material handling systems or power distribution in industrial settings is an asset.
