Are you looking for an exciting new career opportunity that comes with amazing opportunities for success and growth for your future? Morskate Manufacturing is actively recruiting a motivated 2nd / 3rd Year Apprenticeship Welder to join our dynamic team of professionals .

Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for executing and supporting the day-to-day welding and fabrication work in the shop, ensuring production timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols are met. You’ll assist with material prep, layout, equipment operation, documentation, and troubleshooting during the fabrication of structural components, equipment, and custom metal assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain excellent attendance record
• Fabricate and / or repair equipment, structures and various types of metal products using an array of welding processes such as GMAW, GTAW and SMAW
• Analyze and interpret assembly drawings and sketches to determine measurements, layouts and sequence of welding steps
• Examine own welds and surfaces to discover flaws to ensure they meet the required standards
• Grind and finish parts to specification
• Adhere finished product identification and product finishing colored tag as per drawing
• Track finished product and job status via sign off on drawings and updates to master control list
• Accurate use of tape measure, square, levels, angle finder and other measuring tools related to specific area (in both Metric & Imperial)
• Operate drill presses, grinders, power saws and other hand tools
• Safe operation of overhead crane for material movement as required
