The Role
Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this role will support the development, implementation, and optimization of process strategies under the guidance of senior engineers, contributing to safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. Will also assist in maintaining process documentation and reducing operational variation and losses, while complying with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support a safe and healthy work environment through adherence to proper design and hands-on involvement in the installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of process equipment, under supervision.
- Assist in cost reduction initiatives, process improvements, and service requests to the engineering area.
- Support the analysis of process performance indicators related to safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability, and operability.
- Assist senior engineers and plant management in investigating process performance issues and developing technical improvement proposals.
- Participate as a supporting process engineer in the design, construction, and implementation of capital investment projects.
- Assist in the creation, maintenance, and updating of operational documentation such as standard operating procedures, process descriptions, material and energy balances, and P&IDs.
- Provide technical support during HAZOP studies and other process risk analysis activities, under guidance from senior personnel.
- Support the execution of tests and trials aimed at improving equipment or process performance.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with procedures, guidelines, design standards, and the implementation of approved new technologies.
- Provide day-to-day, hands-on technical support to help ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for operational or process enhancements.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.0–5years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing, or industrial operations (internships or co-op experience considered).Basic knowledge of process safety concepts and risk analysis methodologies.Familiarity with maintenance protocols, troubleshooting methodologies, management of change and root cause analysis.Basic understanding of statistical methods and process monitoring tools.Ability to work effectively in cross-functional and multicultural teamsProficient English language skills (written and verbal)Location and schedule
