Title : Machine Tool Builder and Integrator
Location : Ontario
Required hours : 8,000 hours per year of Full time employment
Overview :
A Machine Tool Builder and Integrator is responsible for assembling, testing, and integrating machine tools and automated systems used in manufacturing processes.
This role combines mechanical, electrical, and software engineering skills to create and install complex machinery that can perform precision tasks such as cutting, shaping, and finishing materials.
Key Responsibilities :
Assemble mechanical components, electrical systems, and subassemblies to build complex machine tools.
Perform precision mechanical work, including fitting, aligning, and adjusting components.
Integrate various subsystems, such as CNC controllers, drives, motors, and sensors, into a unified machine.
Ensure proper functionality between mechanical and electrical components.
Conduct system testing to ensure machines operate within specifications.
Perform calibration of equipment to guarantee accuracy and performance.
Diagnose and resolve issues with machine tools, systems, and software.
Use diagnostic tools and test equipment to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software problems.
Modify or retrofit existing machines and systems as required to meet client specifications.
Work with engineering teams to customize machines for specific production requirements.
Create and maintain detailed records of machine specifications, designs, and testing procedures.
Provide status reports on machine assembly and integration progress.
Collaborate with engineers and other team members during the design and development process.
Communicate clearly with customers regarding installation, maintenance, and operational procedures.
Qualifications : Education :
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field is preferred.
Experience :
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in machine tool building, automation, or integration.
Hands-on experience with CNC machinery, robotics, and automated systems is highly preferred.
Skills :
Proficiency in reading technical blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and control systems.
Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) programming and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with CAD / CAM software for designing and modifying parts.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Certifications :
Certifications in CNC programming, electrical systems, or robotics are a plus.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift heavy components and work with industrial machinery.
Capability to stand, bend, and work in tight spaces for extended periods.

Work Environment :
