Responsibilities
Acadia University is seeking a dynamic Project Manager, Donor Relations , to join the External Relations team on a 12-month limited term contract . Reporting to the Executive Director, Donor Relations, the Project Manager is integral to the donor cycle, with a focus on inspiring, engaging, and retaining donors, encouraging them to increase their support and make lasting contributions to Acadia University.
Key responsibilities of the Project Manager include :
- Leading and managing multiple Donor Relations projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet deadlines, adhere to budget, and align with university guidelines and strategic objectives.
- Foster synergies and ensure strong collaboration with the broader External Relations team, including Alumni Relations, External Relations Communications, and Reporting and Records. Build effective relationships with university colleagues, alumni, donors, and community partners.
- Develop and implement strategies to clearly demonstrate the impact of donor gifts, ensuring projects illustrate how donations support the university's strategic priorities and funding needs.
- Identify and implement strategies to enhance donor stewardship, ensuring current and prospective donors feel valued and inspired to continue their support.
- Have a clear understanding of university funding priorities and conduct research to identify potential donors, evaluate donor interests, and explore opportunities for additional fundraising initiatives and increased giving.
- Ensure all projects are compliant with university policies, procedures, and donor expectations, maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Qualifications
We are seeking candidates who possess an undergraduate degree in business, project management, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years relatable experience.Strong understanding of the donor cycle, stewardship, and fundraising best practices.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and inspire stakeholders.Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to work to a high level of accuracy, maintain confidentiality, and work as part of a team.Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to assess donor trends and identify fundraising opportunities.For further information or to request a detailed job description, please contact Jennifer Veinot at jennifer.veinot@acadiau.ca.
