OVERVIEW :
Cotton Council International (CCI) located in Washington DC is a non-profit organization that works on behalf of the US cotton industry to promote US cotton around the world in order to drive exports.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
This uniquely qualified consultant is expected to support CCI’s efforts with respect to CCI’s primary target audiences which are spinning mills, textile manufacturers, brands and retailers. The number one responsibility for this consultant is to help promote the use of US cotton by providing technical support services and educational information demonstrating the value of US cotton fiber. Her / his expertise will be used to demonstrate the high quality of US cotton fibers in different platforms.
The primary purpose of the technical advising and support is to augment the value of US cotton and facilitate its optimal processing in textile mills that are facing challenges in its use and facilitate a healthy dialog between players of ‘Golden Triangle’ – the Chief Executive, Cotton Buyer and Technical Executive, for knowledgeable strategies.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
1. CCI Consultancy Services
- Provide professional & high-quality technical services as per the established procedures of CCI to the designated mills.
- Work collaboratively with regional directors and country representatives for smooth workflow.
- Provide technical guidance to other technical team members where needed.
- Work closely with the Head of CCI Technical Services, following the Tech Team Field Service planning set up by the Technical Coordinator
- Work closely with the entire CCI team to achieve regional and global objectives.
- Ensure that all contacts are entered into the CRM system and all contacts are maintained as current on and on-going basis.
- Participate in virtual customer services via real-time chat
2. COTTON USA SOLUTIONS® Program (general)
Support the entire Tech Team in leveraging and helping to champion the Cotton USA Solutions Program in an attempt to support CCI Regional Directors and Representatives worldwide.Develop relevant, interesting and motivating presentations, both Power Point and potentially videos that communicate the advantages of US cotton to our target audiences and can be delivered via On-Site Mill Visits, Cotton Days, The U.S. Cotton Academy, etc.2.1 Onsite Mill Visits
Assist in Technical Surveys or Process Optimizations at spinning mills world-wide.After completing the visit, consultant shall generate a visit report, highlighting the benefits of using U.S. Cotton and the connected successes of improvement throughout the service conducted.2.2 The U.S. Cotton Academy (individual mill and common platforms)
Assist in planning courses following individual The U.S. Cotton Academy teaching methods including preparation of teaching material for particular courses.Participate in The Cotton USA Academy as a lecturer.2.3 Mill Exchange Program
Participate in Mill Exchange Program Events if required by CCI2.4 U.S. Cotton Seminars
Provide technical presentations in technical seminars, cotton days, conferences and / or meetings. These engagements may include mill visits before or after the presentations.Understand requirements for each event.Deliver keynote presentations if required by CCI.2.5 COTTON USA MILL PERFORMANCE INDEX
Support the MPI program manager with technical assistanceSupport spinning mills with the on-boarding and data entry of the program3. Contracting work / External Consultancy Firms
Participate in selecting themes for Technical Mill StudiesAssist in following up on progress reports of external consultants conducting Mill Studies if required by CCI.Participate in establishing professional work relationships with 3rd party consultancy agencies4. Measuring – Evaluation – Standardization
Deliver reports in a timely manner following standard operational procedures (SOP) for each individual task where applicable (Standard Consultancy Reports etc.)Submit to CCI a monthly invoice showing a complete list of activities conducted during the relevant month including trip reports, expense reports and contacts before the deadlines provided by CCI.Periodically review checklists, job aids and best practices manuals for accuracy and consistencies.Effectively using good presentation and data analysis skills for processing information5. IT – Software Landscaping
Utilize Microsoft office programs or other software tools provided by CCIUtilize the MPI program to present and demonstrate the content6. Others
Work closely with the National Cotton Council (NCC) on key technical topics including bale packaging and cotton quality measures.Be a supportive and collegial team member working with both US and international staff.COMPENSATION :
