Role Overview

We are seeking a senior software developer to own the technical development of our mobile and web applications. In this role, you will design and implement the end‑to‑end architecture of a product that utilizes advanced visual recognition features. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to integrate AI capabilities into a seamless user experience.

This position is based in Montreal, Canada, and offers a unique opportunity to shape a product from the ground up in a highly innovative environment and grow into a technical leadership role managing direct reports as the team scales.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Ownership & Architecture : Own the end‑to‑end technical architecture of the mobile and web applications and supporting backend services, making key decisions around scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Hands‑on Development : Design, implement, and ship core product features across the mobile app and backend, especially during early stages where speed, quality, and pragmatism are critical.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration : Work closely with AI / ML engineers, product, design, art researchers, and leadership to translate complex technical capabilities and business requirements into a cohesive, high‑quality user experience.
• AI & Computer Vision Integration (Production Focus) : Integrate AI‑driven capabilities (including computer vision and image‑based recognition) developed by ML teams into reliable, production‑grade mobile workflows.
• Machine Learning Deployment : Solid understanding of machine learning deployment lifecycles.
• Engineering Standards & Code Quality : Establish and uphold engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, performance optimization, security considerations, and long‑term maintainability.
• Technical Decision‑Making & Tradeoffs : Make informed technical tradeoffs under real‑world constraints, balancing delivery speed with long‑term architectural soundness.
• Technical Leadership & Mentorship : Review code, provide technical guidance, and help set the engineering foundations that will support future team growth as the company scales.
