Responsibilities
Developing and executing standardization of manufacturing quality enablersPerforming root cause analysis of quality issues, often using advanced problem‑solving tools (Kepner‑Tregoe, Shainin Red X, Design of Experiments, etc.) recommending and implementing cost‑effective permanent corrective actionsAnalyze quality data from internal and external indicators, manage engineering changes working with a cross‑functional team to ensure timely executionConduct product evaluation tests to ensure robustness of product or process change before full implementation and will be the point of contact for engineering quality and all product‑related incidentsEnsure delivery of third‑party quality metrics, provide creative thinking to the analysis of data and the identification of new opportunitiesProven track record of developing and executing standardization and experience with having cross‑functional responsibilities in a lean organizationPlan, prioritize, set goals and manage multiple projects in a technical and business environmentPossess strong communication skills to support meetings at all levels of the company, including senior leadershipEstablish partnerships both internally and externally should be able to influence without direct authorityDemonstrate commitment and dedication in delivering a premier product to the consumer, represent the Voice of the Customer to the platform teams and contribute or drive team success by clarifying expectation and minimizing political hurdlesDemonstrate unwavering commitment to delivering results and champion achievements and exhibit a willingness to do things differently and consistently translate ideas into actions that deliver resultsRequired Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree requiredReactive Black Belt and Green Belt training and completed projectsA minimum of 10 years of Powertrain Manufacturing or Engineering experienceA minimum of 5 years Powertrain Quality experienceThorough understanding of Engines & Driveline componentsThorough understanding of Quality and Supplier Operations
Thorough understanding of structured problem solving and root cause analysisAbility to stand and be on your feet long periods of time in a manufacturing environmentPreferred Skills & Qualifications
Black Belt or Green Belt certificationExperience launching engine programManufacturing, design release, and / or supplier quality experience are strongly desiredKnowledge of engines, transmissions, and driveline components strongly desiredExperience working in a lean / flat organization with cross functional skillsWork with internal teams to develop and implement integrated content required to drive growth and maximize customer valueProvide creative thinking to the analysis of data and the identification of new opportunitiesAbility to lead without direct authorityAbility to build partnerships both internally and externallyCapable of planning and prioritizing including the ability to manage multiple projects, determine project urgency and create action plansExperience and ability to follow ISO / TS16949 and APQP processes to launch and monitor engine manufacturingThe ideal candidate must have a proven track record of developing and executing standardization, especially within the area of PowertrainThe successful candidate must possess outstanding teamwork, interpersonal and communications skillsThe candidate must be a high‑energy, hands‑on individual with strength of convictions and leadership presenceThis person is by nature a risk‑taker and has a high level of ambition.
