Hardware Vehicle Installation Technician

Job Title: Hardware Vehicle Installation Technician – (12v Technician)

Location: Toronto and Montreal (1 Technician in each location)
Type: Contract
Compensation: Per call
Working conditions: On site at client locations within the area (Toronto or Montreal) which will be a mix of both indoor and outdoor settings.

Candidates must have access to a reliable, insured vehicle and have a valid drivers license.

Summary:

We are seeking technicians to install hardware/electronic devices (GPS Navigation, Satellite Radio, Alarm Systems, Full Range Audio Components CD/MP3/DVD/Video Game/Television receivers, factory and after-market vehicle speakers and Sub Woofers etc) into a wide range of vehicles (cars, trucks, tractors, etc).

Role:
Technicians will be responsible for:

-Doing new and replacement installations and upgrades

-Troubleshooting previous/existing installations

-Handling general technical support of client issues

-Fill out installation time sheets and send in to Admin.

-Other related duties as assigned

-After hours support and installations as needed

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

-Must have an MECP Diploma or extensive 12v installation experience

-Must be familiar with electrical equipment mentioned above

-Must demonstrate understanding of basic electrical/wiring practices and principles

-Able to apply common sense

-Carry out instructions provided to you (in written, oral or diagram form)

-Ability to use trade tools and follow safety standards

-Able to trouble shoot issues over the phone with clients

-Efficient at operating a Windows based Laptop and Desktop computer

-Familiarity with Modems and Wireless technology a Plus

-Correct use of soldering irons, pliers, wire cutters

-Clear and accurate written and verbal English skills

-Excellent time management skills
