The Service Technician works in the field supporting our customers in the car wash industry. Through providing top-notch mechanical and technical support to our customers, this position has a positive impact on customer retention. This role reports directly to Service Manager providing hands-on equipment service for new installation projects as well as maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing existing equipment. Using exceptional knowledge of car wash equipment and chemistry is paramount to support our customers in running successful carwash businesses.
Key Accountabilities
- Conduct scheduled visits to customer’s locations to install new car wash equipment, perform repairs, inspections and / or service of carwash equipment
- Use mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge to install, modify or update equipment. This includes diagnosing, maintaining, repairing or adjusting equipment.
- Troubleshoot car wash equipment related to chemical, mechanical, electromechanical, electronic equipment and PLC controllers
- Identify parts needed at the customer site and issue requisitions and purchase orders
- Deliver products to customers as part of regular or emergency service visits
- Assist customers with product ordering / inventory management
- Maintain tools, test equipment and materials in an organized manner
- Adhere to company process and procedural standards such as :
- immediate inputting of electronic reports
- maintain company supplied vehicle and equipment
- prepare detailed service and failure records
- Make recommendations to customers on a regular basis to improve customer revenues and reduce customer total costs
- Build and strengthen customer relationships that serve to retain, grow and gain accounts
- Communicate professionally with customers and internal team members in a timely fashion
- Train clients relating to use, operation, and maintenance of equipment
- Provide coaching and guidance to other technicians within the team to promote a positive and productive work environment
Education & Experience Required
Preferred candidates will have direct experience working in the carwash industryMillwright, heavy truck mechanic, packaging mechanic, machine builder or service tech experience in other fields or other related trades is considered an assetTechnical Skills & Competencies

The position works within manufacturing and warehouse areas as well as occasionally on customer sites. The environment at times may be noisy and hot during summer months creating humid work environment with stagnant water.
Physical demands of the position require standing, moving equipment and parts, using push / pulling force, frequent lifting of product up to 75lbs. Manual dexterity required for working with a variety of tools and equipment.
Cognitive demands of the role require the ability to manage changing priorities, working under deadlines and concentration for detailed and precise work. Volume of work can change with customer demand. This role interacts with different departments and requires collaboration and regular interaction with a variety of people.
