Schedule

Monday Friday at Markham with rotating Weekends. This position is based at the Markham-Stouffville Hospital site, however there could be occasional shifts at the Reactivation Care Centre.

Support

As a member of our interprofessional team, you will be responsible for providing assessment, treatment, education and counseling to adult inpatients with swallowing and communication impairments within the subacute and acute stroke patient population in addition to the support of a variety of subacute and acute medicine, and rehab adult populations within Markham Stouffville Hospital.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology. Current registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario.

Preference will be given to candidates with at least 2 years’ recent experience with dysphagia and communication disorders in a subacute and / or acute medical environment (ALC, general medicine, neurology, and stroke rehab patient populations).

Skills

Proficiency with videofluoroscopic swallow studies for adult and paediatric patients; MBSImP certification. Recent experience with treatment / management of speech, language, and cognitive communication disorders.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development.
