Responsibilities

  • Enhance, develop and mobilize the team of professionals and technicians;
  • Plan, assign, coordinate and supervise work, projects and activities performed by the team;
  • Chair regular communication and meetings for the team;
  • Help manage the training plans and career development of employees;
  • Provide effective leadership, direction and support for members of the team;
  • Work with project managers to ensure that projects are set up and executed in full compliance with quality standards and regulations;
  • Determine areas of potential improvement and direct the implementation of change to address these areas;
  • Build and / or support client relationships at the appropriate level, working in conjunction with the senior leadership team;
  • Prepare detailed proposals for Geotechnical / Pavements Engineering projects with planned scope of work and fees
  • Implement up-to-date business processes;
  • Act as a senior professional in various projects;

Requirements :

  • University Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering;
  • Member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO);
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of geotechnical / pavement engineering and / or construction quality control and material testing;
  • Experience managing a portfolio or projects and a team of project engineers and / or civil technicians;
  • Familiarity of engineering practices and North American based knowledge and experience in a consulting environment; is essential with a proven ability to obtain business from clients;
  • Proven success in managing and executing engineering investigations and research, conducting evaluations and analytical work and adhering to project budgets and objectives;
  • An understanding of basic accounting principles and personnel management is a definite asset;
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and co-workers and provide technical leadership to staff;
