Litigation Associate

We are seeking a Litigation Associate to help deliver exceptional legal services to a broad client audience. In this role, the Associate will report directly to our Principal Lawyer and Head of Litigation and will be given substantial responsibility. The Litigation Associate will enjoy high levels of support and a commitment to professional development while working closely with team members and clients.  The Litigation Associate will be exposed to a variety of legal matters, including commercial disputes, construction disputes, employment disputes and insurance disputes among others.

Key Areas of Responsibility

With the full support of our team, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following :

Assisting the Principal Lawyer with day-to-day handling of files

Providing legal counsel to clients

Have carriage of your own files

Preparing legal documents such as but not limited to pleadings and motions

Resolve claims and disputes

Qualifications :

3+ years of Superior Court litigation experience including leading discoveries, handling the lifecycle of files, pre-trials and trial work

L.L.B / J. D and member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario

Self-motivated and entrepreneurial

Excellent research, drafting and written communication skills

Superior spoken communication skills, and an effective negotiator

Demonstrated sense of urgency with strong prioritization and organizational skills

Client focused

Strong interest in litigation
