The Operations Manager will ensure effective delivery of security services, maintain client satisfaction, and lead our team of security personnel in alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements. This role acts as a critical link between our front-line security teams, clients, and corporate management to uphold service excellence and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership : Oversee daily security operations including manned guarding, mobile patrols, and CCTV monitoring. Ensure all security services meet client contracts and Armour Security’s quality standards.
  • Client Relations : Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing any concerns or service requests promptly. Maintain strong partnerships by understanding client needs and providing tailored security solutions.
  • Team Management : Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of security supervisors and guards. Ensure all staff are trained, equipped, and aware of site‑specific procedures. Promote a work environment focused on safety, professionalism, and respect. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching or corrective action as needed.
  • Compliance & Safety : Ensure compliance with all security licensing requirements, company policies, and health and safety regulations. Implement and enforce standard operating procedures and emergency protocols. Participate in occupational health and safety committees or initiatives as required.
  • Administrative Duties : Prepare operational reports (scheduling, incident reports, client feedback) and maintain accurate records of security activities. Assist in budgeting and resource allocation for the operations department. Respond to urgent incidents or operational issues after hours if necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and operational processes. Work with senior management to develop strategic plans for expanding services or enhancing efficiency. Support business development by identifying potential new contracts or community outreach opportunities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Education : High school diploma required; post‑secondary education in business, security management, or a related field is an asset.
  • Experience : At least 2–3 years of supervisory or management experience in the security industry or a related field (law enforcement, military, or risk management). A total of 5+ years of experience in security operations is preferred.
  • Licenses / Certifications : Valid British Columbia Security Worker License (or ability to obtain). A valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean driving record is required. First Aid / CPR certification and any security management credentials (e.g. Certified Protection Professional) are strong assets.
  • Leadership Skills : Strong leadership and team coordination skills with the ability to mentor staff and manage performance. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with clients and employees.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting and scheduling. Familiarity with scheduling or security incident software is an advantage.
  • Other Requirements : Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, especially under pressure. Able to work flexible hours or on‑call as needed for a 24 / 7 operation. Note : Candidates do not need Canadian work experience; international experience in security or operations management will be considered equivalently.
  • Benefits

  • Competitive Pay : Starting at $72000-$75000 annually, with opportunities for advancement.
  • Health Benefits : Group medical and dental benefits after 9 months of employment.
  • Wellness Perks : Group gym membership benefits to support your health.
  • Financial Perks : Advance pay deposits available.
  • Professional Development : Access to over 40 free in‑house training courses to enhance your skills.
  • Uniform & Equipment : Free uniform and necessary equipment provided.
  • Diversity and Inclusion

Armour Security is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. We value the unique backgrounds and perspectives of all team members and are building a team that reflects the community we serve. We welcome and encourage applications from qualified candidates of all backgrounds, including persons with disabilities, Indigenous peoples, visible minorities, women, veterans, and newcomers to Canada.
