We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering professional for a maintenance engineering focused role with a well established client of ours in the Vancouver area.
This positions will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of electrical systems and equipment to support continuous plant operations.

Responsibilities
- Coordination / consultation with site maintenance, operations and project group in the delivery of improved fixed equipment reliability & mechanical integrity
- Develop and / or revise procedures relating to inspection, repair, and maintenance as required
- Development of Fitness for Service inspection plans
- Maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through systematic evaluation and improvement initiatives to enhance equipment availability, performance, and quality.
- Conduct root-cause investigations to identify and resolve issues affecting equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and industry regulations in all maintenance activities.
- Support daily plant operations by addressing plant issues to ensure safe and reliable functioning.
- Identify and address site inefficiencies by implementing corrective actions for equipment "bad actors".
- Assist I&E maintenance technicians with subject matter expertise, including electrical safe work permitting and electrical training.
- Review and optimize preventive maintenance activities to enhance effectiveness and resource allocation.
- Support EHS initiatives through participation in safety roll-out activities.
- Provide engineering support for high-priority maintenance needs and outage response.
- Maintain equipment registers and manage obsolescence, identifying risks and developing mitigation plans.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for electrical and instrumentation management of change.
- Support capital projects from conception to commissioning, ensuring maintenance readiness for new installations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar and compatible field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering & maintenance, preferably in a chemical or industrial environment.
- Solid experience in facilitating Root-cause Analysis and corrective actions
- Experience managing small capital projects
- Experience working with 3rd party engineering consulting firms who specialize in engineering evaluations
- Strong knowledge of low & medium voltage electrical systems, PLCs / DCS’s, motor controls, and instrumentation.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards in a chemical plant setting.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of Process Safety best practices including IEC61511, Alarm Management, HMI design, HAZARD analysis and Risk Management processes
- Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (IEEE, ISA, NFPA, CSA).
- Knowledge of rectifier systems is a plus.
