Senior Mechanical Engineer
Our client is a well established manufacturer of furniture for public and private spaces in North America. They are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their leadership team in Mississauga.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will support company objectives by providing engineering support to Operations, Production, Marketing, Sales, and our clients. This will be achieved through leading the designing of new products, and parts, or upgrading of current products and parts.
Role and Responsibilities :
- Take projects from concept through to the design phase and launch
- Responsible for looking after the entire product lifecycle
- Undertake mechanical drafting and design
- Complete drawing reviews
- Working knowledge of PDM, BIFMA, and UL
- Provide technical support to other departments
- Process ECR’s
- Complete shop and vendor support drawings
- Recording of technical data in the PDM vault
- Ensure that all technical information is updated in a systematic process
- Complete prototype building and validation
- Managing projects as assigned
- Instruct Installation, Product and Design, and Production departments in the proper use of designed parts and products
- All other duties and tasks as required
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical EngineeringPEng designation preferred5+ years of mechanical engineering / design experienceExcellent SolidWorks and AutoCAD skills (extrusion, die-cast tooling, sheet metal)Knowledge in GD&TWorking experience in the furniture industry; and knowledge of such materials – metals, woods, foams, plasticsExperience in working with industrial designersAbility to travel internationallyStrong organizational and project planning / management skillsPeople-orientated, with an ability to establish relationships, credibility, and trustEffective verbal and written communication skillsCan do” attitude and ability to multitask is essential for this positionPlease email resumes to :
