Position Summary :

The Recreation Aide will incorporate our mission, vision, and values—Compassion, Collaboration, Respect, Social Justice, Integrity, and Stewardship—into all actions and decisions, upholding our ethical traditions.

Reporting to the Recreational Therapist, the Recreation Aide will assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating recreation and leisure programs to meet residents' physical, social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, and cultural needs. The role involves working collaboratively with the healthcare team to promote resident participation and support recreation programming.

Qualifications :

  • Alberta HCA / Recreation Aide certificate required
  • One to two years of Therapeutic Recreation experience preferred
  • Valid Class 4 driver’s license preferred
  • Ability to maintain good relations with staff, the public, and outside agencies
  • Flexibility and a positive outlook amidst organizational changes
  • Training or experience in social services, recreation, or related discipline preferred

    All new employees must provide a criminal record check not older than six months before their start date. Processing times for Criminal Record Check / Vulnerable Person Screening are currently longer (3-4 weeks), so early initiation is advised. Not having your CRC will delay your employment start.
