ABOUT THE JOB :
WillScot seeks an experienced Construction / Project Manager to support the front-end pre-construction phases of our custom complex construction projects by :
- Interacting with customers and prospects, with our sales team, to present capabilities and develop scopes of work
- Participating in bid / proposal development, deal structuring and approval from a technical and feasibility perspective
- Preparing estimates from RFPs, preparing the technical package and establishing project budgets
This is a forward-facing role interacting heavily with the WillScot sales team, customers and the construction services team.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING :
Day to Day activities may include :
Customer Service
Communicating WillScot capabilitiesSelling the modular solution and benefits and educating the customerQualifying the opportunity through direct communication with the Customer & clear understanding of project requirementsAssembling project information and developing project program requirementsReviewing the proposed site, existing conditions / utilities and physical restrictionsSales Support
Providing VALUE by elevating the technical credibility of WillScotAssisting the sales team in qualifying the Customer and opportunityMinimizing business risk through accurate assessment of project feasibilityProviding general technical assistance and support : training and mentoring when neededMaintaining constant dialogue with regards to market / industry trends, customers and new opportunitiesConstantly communicating status on bids / proposals in progress, technical deal structuring and customer interactionTechnical Support
Reviewing and qualifying bid / RFP documentsReviewing blueprints and specifications, and performing take offsEnsuring CS representations in pre-bid meetings and job walksParticipating in prebid meetings / job walks / and subcontractor qualificationsDeveloping project strategy and “Win Factors”Technically structure the deal and identify cost efficient ways to provide the Customer with an optimum solutionEnsure Go / No Go reviews are scheduled on every project that is equal to or larger than (4) unitsOffering value added product and service solutions, i.e. site servicesInvestigating state and local building codes and regulationsDeveloping project scope of workManaging vendor and subcontractor selection including qualifying A / E firmsReviewig all subcontractor RFQs as solicited by vendorsDeveloping the project baseline estimateAssembling the Technical Package and conducting internal reviewsDelivering Technical to Sales Rep and communicating strategiesDeveloping milestone project schedule; working with the SPM to develop elaborate and detailed project schedulesDeveloping the project budgetObtaining hard-costs from selected vendors and subcontractors at winScheduling Project Kick-off Reviews with the project team following awardCommunicating regional bid activity on a weekly basis to the regional and corporate teamsMonitoring pre-construction progress including but not limited to preliminary and final drawings, proposal writing and submittal to the customerMaintaining project schedules up to date and enforcing accountability measures on all front-end (bid activity) reportingConducting Post Mortem reviews to evaluate lost opportunitiesMaintaining CS process and SOPProject Support
Manage assigned projectsInterpret plans, estimates and quantities of materials neededExecute on approved plans, estimates, and procurement of work planReview contractor quotations and complete purchase requisitions requiredIdentification and solicitation of potentially new subcontractors.Execute on planned construction budgets, procedures and schedules.Review bidding and contract documents to ensure adherence to the applicable requirementsExamine building contract documents and negotiate with building owners and subcontractors any change ordersEDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS :
A successful CM candidate :
Has a Bachelor's degree (construction or engineering preference) and 3 years of experience estimating projectsOR a high school degree and 5 years of estimating experience
Can perform effective blueprint take-offsCan delineate subcontractor scopes of workIs proficient in MS Project or other construction scheduling softwareCan effectively use construction management / project management softwareHas customer service and sales presentation skills to assist Sales Managers in closing dealsIncluding proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint
A solid background in building trades and / or site developmentStrong attention to detail and company processes and proceduresAll WillScot team members must have :
PC Proficiency in Windows environment and MS Office SuiteExcellent verbal, written, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skillsExtensive travel required and frequency of overnight travel dependent upon geographic territoryThe highest levels of integrityAn unwavering commitment to SAFETYRegional up to National travel of approximately 30% may be required.

Base Wage Range : $76,300.00 - $114,500.00
Individual rates are based on a variety of factors such as degrees or certifications, skill-level and years of experience, and include considerations such as expected overtime and variable compensation pay such as bonus or commission.
