About The Role

The Specialist / Analyst, Energy Spend & Value Engineering will drive value engineering and energy cost optimization across the EV battery cell procurement function, supporting both Energy and Central Procurement teams. It focuses on strategic cost modeling, supplier collaboration, and identifying efficiency opportunities in energy sourcing and usage. The position enables cross-functional alignment to reduce total cost of ownership while enhancing sustainability and operational value.

This is a flex hybrid work structure, where employees can work both remotely and on-site at our St. Thomas location.

Key Responsibilities

Energy Budgeting & Invoice Verification (30%)

• Support the preparation of energy cost forecasts and budgets in collaboration with Operations’ team.
• Verify utility and supplier invoices for accuracy, flag discrepancies, and support resolution with utilities, suppliers, and province’s energy regulators.
• Track actual vs. forecasted energy spend and provide variance analysis.

Supplier & Contract Optimization (20%)

Energy & Sustainability Alignment (5%)

Cross-Functional Value Projects (20%)
