Registered Nurse (Community Health / Primary Care) Exigences Essential Experience
Recent and Significant experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) providing Community Health or Primary Care nursing services in one or more of the following areas :
- Community Health (Public Health and Home and Community Care)
- Primary Care
- Urgent or Emergency Care
- Acute or Intensive Care
Recent* is defined as within the last three years
Significant is defined as at least one year of experience with the candidate performing complex activities related to this task
Conditions of Employment
- Reliability Status Security Clearance
- Valid driver's license or personal mobility to a degree normally associated with the possession of a driver's license
- Medical Clearance
- PRE-PLACEMENT : Category 1 health evaluation + COVID-19 self-screening questionnaire
- PERIODIC : Category 3 health evaluation according to the schedule outlined in the Occupational Health Evaluation Standard for First Nations and Inuit Health Branch Nurses Assigned to Isolated Posts in Northern First Nations Communities
- Willingness and ability to travel in small aircraft, off road vehicles and by boat in varied weather conditions to communities in remote and isolated areas
- Willingness and ability to work in a rigorous, diverse and often demanding work environment
- May be required to be temporarily reassigned to other communities as operationally required
- Willingness and ability to perform on call duties, work after hours, and on weekends as required
- Willingness and ability to complete mandatory education / training relevant to the position
- Current valid registration as a Registered Nurse and a member in good standing in the province where the position is located.

Education
Graduation with a degree in nursing from a recognized post-secondary institution*
A public or private institution that has been given authority to grant degrees, diplomas, and other credentials by a public or private act of a provincial / territorial legislature or through a government-mandated quality assurance mechanism.
For greater certainty, also included are institutions authorized to grant specific academic credentials for specific academic programs.
Candidates with foreign credentials must provide proof of Canadian equivalency. Consult the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials or Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada (ACESC).
