- Conduct U.S. corporate tax preparations and returns, tax minimization strategies, andpliance issues.
- Work with a team to deliver expertise relating toplex US tax through management presentations and high-quality deliverables.
- Assist in performing due diligence or modelling with respect to potential acquisitions by Canadian entities of US subsidiaries, partnerships, or business operations.
- Review legal documents such as articles of incorporation, purchase agreements and amalgamation agreements.
- Prepare domestic / international federal and multi-state corporate / partnership information returns.
- Research issues that arise frompliance or planning work such as the effects of various tax treaty provisions on the taxpayer (capital gains, dividends, business profits, etc.)
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.
- Willing to learn to collaborate with other external consultants that send tax documents from the UK, US and Canada.
Skills and Experience
Canadian or other international corporate tax experience is a plus.Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related educationCPA certified2+ years of relevant public accounting or mix with industryLI-DNI
