Job Responsibilities
- Lead and support the modernization of legacy Business Intelligence platforms by migrating on-premises SQL Server solutions (SSRS / SSAS) to cloud-native analytics platforms such as Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
- Develop, enhance, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, including the migration of legacy SSRS paginated reports, using DAX and Power Query to meet business reporting needs
- Optimize Power BI reports and datasets for performance, scalability, and usability, including efficient handling and export of large datasets
- Build and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks to ingest, transform, and prepare data throughout the migration and reporting lifecycle
- Perform data querying, transformation, and validation to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability during and after platform migration
- Implement DirectQuery, composite models, and aggregation strategies to effectively manage and analyze large data volumes
- Support the migration and modernization of SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) models (Tabular or Multidimensional) to Microsoft Fabric Semantic Models or Direct Lake (nice to have)
- Leverage the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, including OneLake, Data Engineering, and Azure Data Factory, to deliver integrated analytics solutions (nice to have)
- Set up and maintain CI / CD deployment pipelines for Power BI and Fabric artifacts to ensure consistent and controlled releases across environments
- Apply data governance and security controls, including row-level security (RLS), data lineage, and access management, in alignment with organizational standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and business users to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure successful adoption of BI solutions
Experience & Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field required5+ years of Business Intelligence (BI) and data engineering experience, with a proven track record in modernizing legacy data platformsDemonstrated experience in migration projects, specifically transitioning from on-premise SQL Server ecosystems (SSRS / SSAS) to cloud-native solutions (Power BI / MS Fabric)Power BI & SSRS Migration : Expert-level proficiency in Power BI development (DAX, Power Query) and experience migrating legacy SSRS (Paginated Reports) to modern Power BI DashboardsAbility to optimize reports for performance and export capabilities; specifically handling the export of large datasets efficientlyMS Fabric & SSAS Modernization : Solid understanding of migrating SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) models (Tabular or Multidimensional) to Microsoft Fabric (Semantic Models / Direct Lake)Hands-on knowledge of the MS Fabric ecosystem, including One Lake, Data Engineering, and Azure Data Factory experiencesProficiency in setting up deployment pipelines (CI / CD) for Power BI and Fabric artifactsUnderstanding of data governance, row-level security (RLS), and maintaining data lineage during migrationBackground screening is required as part of the onboarding process. The type of screening required (criminal, credit or other verifications) will vary based on the position and client requirements.
