The Head of Business Development will be responsible for growing the Ottawa market on both sides of the river, identifying and generating new growth opportunities, and enhancing the visibility and reputation of our company.
Strategic Leadership and Planning
Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with the firm’s overall goals and objectives.
Identify and target new business opportunities, including potential clients, partners and markets.
Lead market research efforts to stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape and client needs.
Client Relationship Management
Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, stakeholders and industry partners.
Manage client expectations and ensure smooth communication between clients and the project teams.
Revenue Growth and Sales
Lead efforts to identify and secure new partnerships that align with the firm’s expertise and strategic direction.
Work closely with the firm’s partners and the proposal team to draft and submit proposals
Collaborate with partners on negotiations and deals, ensuring favourable terms for the firm.
Market and Industry Engagement
Represent the firm at industry events, conferences and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and drive BD efforts.
Develop and maintain a strong network within the architecture and design industry, including real estate developers, government agencies, contractors and other stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, preferably in the architecture, design or construction industry.
Proven track record of successfully generating new business, managing client relationships, and driving revenue growth.
Strong understanding of the architecture and design market in Canada, including industry trends, challenges, and regulatory requirements.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
Highly organized and self‑motivated, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
