Overview

CST Coal is looking for Certified Heavy Duty Mechanics to perform maintenance and repairs on mobile and ancillary equipment in an open‑pit mining facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and breakdown maintenance, repairs, and installations on mobile and ancillary equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical / electrical problems while staying within planned time frames and maintaining equipment integrity.
• Enter reports on maintenance, repairs, and diagnoses into the maintenance database before the end of each shift with sufficient detail.
• Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards continuously.
• Participate constructively in safety meetings and incident investigations.
• Handle equipment such as shovels (hydraulic / electric), haul trucks, dozers, graders, loaders, and fuel trucks.

Work Environment

The incumbent works outdoors 90% of the time at the CST Coal Mine Site facility on a 7‑day on, 7‑day off shift rotation. Overtime and standby duties may be required. Exposure to loud noise, moving equipment, and large machinery is common. Candidates must comply with pre‑ and post‑employment drug and alcohol testing. Personal protective equipment includes hard hat, safety glasses, steel‑toe boots, hearing protection, respiratory protection, protective clothing, and gloves.
