Purchasing & Planning Manager (Hybrid, Vaughan) - $130K to $160K

We are excited to be hiring on behalf of our client for the Purchasing & Planning Manager role. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where you will have a direct impact on supply chain operations and team success. This is a hybrid role based in Vaughan, offering a competitive compensation package of $130K to $160K (no bonus).

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead by example, driving results through strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels by applying effective demand forecasting methods.
  • Continuously review and improve departmental practices and procedures to drive efficiency.
  • Provide key analyses and reports on schedule to support decision-making.
  • Monitor, investigate, and resolve any overstock or understock situations.
  • Develop and track key performance metrics for the department to ensure alignment with goals.
  • Build, train, and inspire a high-performing team to achieve exceptional results.

Required Knowledge and Skills :

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma with at least 5 years of experience in purchasing or demand planning management.
  • Hands-on experience in demand planning, with a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Exceptional project management abilities and the ability to effectively present information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments.
  • Experience negotiating with overseas suppliers and handling freight / shipping processes.
  • Proficient in analyzing large volumes of Excel data and turning it into actionable business insights.
  • Ability to calculate and interpret various metrics related to discounts, percentages, moving averages, and volumes.
  • IT-savvy, with experience in designing reports, data files, and system features; AS400 knowledge is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of statistical trends, planning, and forecasting processes.
