Junior Distribution Engineer | Greater Sudbury Hydro

We are currently seeking a Junior Distribution Engineer to join our team.  This is a non-union position based in Sudbury, Ontario.

Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, you will play a critical role in the development, research and recommendation of distribution design and construction standards, as well as distribution equipment specifications.

As part of our Engineering team, you will :

• Provide engineering expertise and coordinate utility construction projects.
• Conduct technical studies including fault level analysis, load forecasting and power quality assessments to optimize system performance.
• Analyze outage data and system loading to improve reliability across the electrical distribution network.
• Support the integration of distributed energy resources, including Connection Impact Assessments and interconnection coordination.
• Assist in the design, commissioning, and programming of automated devices and protective relays.
• Maintain and update system models and equipment databases using engineering software.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.

Greater Sudbury Hydro Inc. offers a comprehensive benefit package, participation in the OMERS defined benefit pension plan, ongoing training and support with a salary range of $105,000 to $117,000.
