This global leader in the aftermarket treatment of industrial emissions is looking for a full time permanent Purchasing, Logistics & Planning Lead .
Responsibilities :
- Own procurement of stainless steel and related raw materials, ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and continuity of supply.
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships; negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and contracts.
- Monitor commodity pricing and market trends to inform buying strategies and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Ensure suppliers meet quality, delivery, and compliance standards.
- Translate sales forecasts and production requirements into purchasing and material plans.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to support service targets while minimizing carrying costs.
- Build and manage demand, supply, and capacity planning models using Excel.
- Identify risks related to shortages, long lead times, or excess inventory and implement mitigation plans.
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics, including freight selection, routing, and cost control.
- Manage 3rd party warehouses across Canada and US to ensure adequate stock levels
- Resolve shipping delays, damages, or discrepancies quickly and effectively.
- Optimize logistics processes to improve delivery performance and reduce freight costs.
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel models for purchasing, planning, and logistics tracking.
- Create dashboards and reports for inventory turns, on-time delivery, purchase price variance, and freight spend.
- Support management with data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, Production, and Finance to align supply plans with business objectives.
- Support new product introductions and engineering changes from a supply and logistics perspective.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement, planning, and logistics processes.
Requirements :
5+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or operations management.Direct experience sourcing stainless steel (or related metals) is required.Strong understanding of procurement, logistics, and production planning principles.Proven negotiation experience with domestic and international suppliers.Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP, formulas, data analysis, forecasting models).Experience with ERP / MRP systems (SYSPRO experience is an asset)Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.AI may be used to support certain administrative aspects of our recruitment process.
