About This Role
The role we are offering you :
- Responsible for achieving significant order intake for the Naval Training and Mission & Operational Support (M&OS) account, generally in magnitude of $50M+ annually
- Identify marketplace opportunities, prospect and develop new clients and partners, maintain and grow existing client and partner relationships, lead and develop captures, and support the contracting process
- Support the development and positioning of CAE capabilities to create and win opportunities within the Canadian defence & security market, with a focus on the Naval domain
- Work with engineering and product teams to develop innovative solutions and deliver strategic sales presentations
- Work with our global offsets organization to develop effective offset strategies
- Lead complex pursuit and capture teams, developing win themes and strategy as a team
- Responsible for development and leadership of capture strategy
- Accountable for budget / expenses associated with approved pursuits
- Provide executive / management and operations / engineering disciplines with visibility into key opportunities, sharing your subject matter expertise freely with your CAE colleagues
- Assist, and where necessary lead, bid and proposal teams to prepare and submit winning proposals for Naval and other assigned opportunities
- Maintain awareness of competitive market offerings and new technologies
Our ideal candidate has :
A Bachelor’s degree or greater in engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics, or practical experience in a related technical field. MBA not required, but preferredIn-depth knowledge of Naval operations and / or maritime technology either through Naval service in Canada or an allied country, or through related industry experience12+ years experience in the Canadian Defence and Security industry6+ years of experience in Canadian Defence procurementExcellent business acumen and strategic mindsetA demonstrated ability to collaborate with key OEMs and business partnersAdvanced sales, market research, and business skills and knowledgeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProven networking skills and an established network of contacts within the Canadian defence industry, the Department of National Defence (DND), Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) and Innovation Science and Economic Development (ISED), or in an equivalent Public Safety & Security environmentCross-functional, international, and agile team leadership skillsThe ability to hold a NATO SECRET Security Clearance & Controlled Goods ClearanceEligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen, a Permanent Resident or with a valid Work PermitAbility to travel within Canada (25-40%) depending on sales activity / assignments. Some overseas travel may be required (10%)Bilingualism is required (English & French)Position Type
