ETL Developer / Finance Systems Data Engineer with solid experience in the insurance industry and expertise in ETL and PostgreSQL development to join our dynamic team.

What You'll Do

Design, develop, and maintain ETL (Informatica Power Center) processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our finance systems.

Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures in PostgreSQL.

Monitor daily / monthly jobs and resolve failures.

Collaborate with finance and insurance teams to understand data requirements and ensure data integrity and accuracy.

Build Qlik reports.

Perform data analysis and solve data-related issues.

Implement data quality checks and validation processes.

Provide solutions by building complex Finance calculations using PostgreSQL stored procedures or ETL.

Monitor and improve the performance of ETL processes and database systems.

Document technical specifications and maintain comprehensive documentation of ETL processes and database schemas.

Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices in ETL and database management.

What You'll Bring

Experience in the insurance industry and ability to understand underwriting data terminology.

Experience in supporting finance systems.

Demonstrable experience as an ETL Developer (Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica BDM).

Experience as a PostgreSQL Developer.

Proven experience as a Database Developer, hands-on experience in writing DDLs and DMLs for relational databases.

Experience in writing complex SQL queries for ad hoc reporting.

Expertise in ETL tools (especially Informatica) and PostgreSQL.

Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and database design.

Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.

Experience with automation tools like Control-M, UNIX scripting experience.

Experience in Qlik & Python reporting (nice to have).

Experience with Snowflake (nice to have).

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Experience in Agile methodology & JIRA.

Good communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field preferred, but equivalent experience will also be considered.

Experience with database systems (e.g., Oracle, Postgres, MySQL). SQL Associate Certification an asset.

Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Qlik, Python, Power BI) an asset.
