Summary

Keewaytinook Okimakanak (KO) is seeking a full-time Speech language Pathologist (SLP) position based out of Thunder Bay Dryden or Balmertown serving our KO communities . Speech language Pathologist responsibilities include the provision of clinical services : assessments consultation programming individual and / or group sessions education and referrals as part of the KO and community Child First Team serving children from birth to 18 years of age with a developmental delay or disability living in KO communities. The SLP will travel to each KO community for one week four times a year and will utilize telemedicine to provide follow up consultation teaching and reassessment when not in the communities.

ACCOUNTABILITY

The Speech Language Pathologist reports directly to and works under the administrative supervision of the Jordans Principle Coordinator and KO Health Director

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides clinical assessment of speech and language functions of children from birth to age 18
• Develops and deliver interventions that addresses identified need including :

Administration of diagnostic tests and interpretation of test results

RISK MANAGEMENT

Work with the communities to Identify and evaluate the risks to the programs (clients staff volunteers) and assist the communities to implement measures to control and minimize risks
