About the role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be the primary driver of client engagements, leading the delivery of tailored Snowflake solutions.

You will work closely with clients to understand their data needs, ensure data governance and security compliance, optimize costs, design efficient data pipelines, provide expert guidance on best practices, collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration, perform data migrations, and conduct performance tuning.

About You

  • You are a continuous and insatiable learner
  • You are articulate and very thorough in everything you do

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on why Snowflake might (or might not) be a good solution for their needs
  • Understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions
  • Optimize customer Snowflake instances by implementing best practices in cost management, storage efficiency, compute scalability, and data pipeline optimization, while ensuring robust data models and governance using Snowflake's advanced features.
  • Design implementation plans and provide estimates for executing such plans
  • Lead a team towards successful delivery of data solutions built on the Snowflake platform, including data engineering and data modeling
  • Design and implement comprehensive data models using structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, including medallion architecture.
  • Develop and optimize data pipelines using both stream and batch processing to ensure efficient data flow management.
  • Proactively identify and resolve performance issues in Snowflake through micropartition optimization, materialized views, dynamic tables, and optimal warehouse sizing.
  • Implement robust data governance solutions in compliance with CCPA and GDPR, including data classification, tagging, and monitoring data lineage.
  • Apply security best practices in Snowflake, including fine-grained access control using roles, permissions, network rules, and integrations.
  • Design and manage secure data-sharing solutions utilizing Snowflake's Secure Data Sharing capabilities.
  • Optimize data ingestion and extraction processes using Snowflake's Snowpipe for continuous data ingestion, external stages, and various data formats.
  • Execute complex data processing workloads using Snowpark, SQL stored procedures, UDFs, UDTFs, and External Functions to enhance performance and functionality within Snowflake.
  • Implement and manage Snowflake’s data recovery and protection features, such as Time Travel and Fail-safe, to ensure data integrity and facilitate rapid data recovery.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science
  • Experience working with a diversity of databases (i.e. Snowflake, Databricks, SQL Server, Teradata, Oracle, etc)
  • You are a clear communicator, skilled at translating complex technical topics into easy to understand information for clients (bonus points for consulting experience!)
  • Proven experience leading a team of data engineers to successfully deliver projects.
  • Experience with data ingestion into Snowflake using Snowpipe or ETL solutions such as FiveTran and Matillion.

What We Offer :

  • Professional growth opportunities and Salesforce certification reimbursements
  • Remote culture with team members spread across three countries
  • Complex and exciting projects with companies you recognize
  • 10 days PTO and Federally observed holidays
