POSITION : Backhoe Loader Operator - Groundsperson Equipment Operator
SITE : Maintenance
HOURS : 40 hrs / wk
JOB COMMENCES : Commencing ASAP until September 16, 2026, or earlier depending on the return of the incumbent.
WAGE : AS PER UNION AGREEMENT
Required Knowledge, Education, Ability and Skills :
- Grade 12 and certificates in power saw safety, playground safety and installation, sprinkler systems and have a good working knowledge of chain link fencing.
- A valid Class 5 BC driver's license, heavy hauler driver certification (code 20) with air endorsement.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and capability to move heavy miscellaneous items for up to eight hours a day. A medical certificate confirming physical fitness will be required .
- Capability to work at heights and in crawl spaces.
- General knowledge and ability to maintain grounds, buildings and equipment.
- Ability to assist trades personnel when / where required
- Mechanical ability to the degree required to perform equipment operational and daily / weekly / time-based preventative maintenance
- Thorough knowledge of heavy trucks, tractors and self-propelled mowers as well as the ability to operate powered grounds equipment safely and effectively
- Perform other duties as required.

All continuing positions receive a competitive benefits package and pension.
