Staff Plus is currently seeking a Machine Set-Up Technician for a full-time, permanent opportunity in Port Perry, Ontario. This role supports production operations through efficient machine set-ups, quality control, material handling, and strict adherence to health and safety standards.
This position includes multiple experience-based technician levels. Candidates will be assessed and placed at the appropriate level (C, B, or A) based on skills, experience, and demonstrated competencies. Compensation is aligned to the level assigned.

What You'll Do :
- Meet with the production supervisor to discuss all ERP information including current production activities, scheduled line changes, and personnel needs prior to going on the floor (Explain any line / equipment issues).
- Follow the docket information for each set up assigned to ensure that quality standards and customer requirements are met.
- Carefully review the ERP information to ensure accurate production and scheduling of line changes so that raw materials are supplied in the correct amounts in the most cost effective blend.
- Ensure that lines do not run out of resin.
- Follow the procedures for mixing and conveying resin blends correctly and efficiently.
- Organize and facilitate the regrind process.
- Assist machine operators with breaks, and part inspections for quality
- Manage operator lines as assigned by supervisor, following the machine operator job description
- Ensure that the resin report and any other required paperwork are completed by the end of the shift for review by the production supervisor.
- Perform each setup in a time efficient manner, following the prescribed procedures for setting a line up to run the required parts accurately and efficiently.
- Minimize scrap produced in the set up process and while adjusting the profiles of parts.
- Perform periodic quality checks and make adjustments to continually improve the quality of the production on all lines.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and functioning properly by following the pre use procedure.
- Follow up with maintenance on repairs and modifications.
- Ensure that the die tracking report, set up information and any other required paperwork is completed for each line worked on for review by the production supervisor.
- Maintain the highest housekeeping standard at all times.
- Exhibit regular attendance at monthly crew and safety meetings.
- Follow the company handbook and all other policies.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Follow set up technician responsibilities for health and safety.
- Assist the JHSC Committee as required.
- Report safety infractions in the health and safety log book.
- Inform the supervisor in a timely manner of health and safety issues where their assistance may be required.
- Recognize the recommendation that all heavy lifts (generally in excess of 40 lbs) are performed as team lifts.
- Ensure that failure by any worker to comply with the health and safety legislation and our policies and procedures will be met with a suitable process of progressive re-enforcement with the support of management.
- Take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of the workers.
- Report all safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Minimum of 2 years previous machine operation or set-up experience in a manufacturing environment
Ability to work continental 12-hour shifts
Reliable transportation and ability to commute to Port Perry, ON
Strong attention to quality, safety, and production efficiency
Legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work full-time hours, as required by this position
