Systems Analyst Job Description

Position Summary:The Systems Analyst manages and maintains IT infrastructure across multiple Argus Properties sites in Kelowna ensuring optimal network performance system security and reliable technology services. This hands-on technical role requires a detail-oriented professional who can effectively troubleshoot complex issues implement solutions independently and deliver excellent customer service to internal users.
As a key member of our IT team you will combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills to support our growing portfolio of properties. The ideal candidate excels at prioritizing multiple tasks solving problems efficiently and maintaining professional relationships with staff and vendors.
Job Responsibilities
- Day-to-day operation and support of all information technology systems across multiple sites
- Maintain troubleshoot repair and administer local area networks (LANs) wide area networks (WANs) computer workstations connections to the Internet and peripheral equipment
- Install configure and maintain network cabling infrastructure across all sites
- Manage and maintain Microsoft Server environments and virtual machine infrastructure
- Administer Office 365 services including user management email SharePoint and Teams
- Configure maintain and troubleshoot Fortinet security products including firewalls switches and access points
- Evaluate and install computer hardware networking software operating system software and software applications
- Monitor the performance of computer systems and networks to coordinate access and optimize performance
- Develop and implement maintenance plans for software and automation related equipment
- Provide technical support to computer users experiencing difficulties with hardware applications and communications software
- Communicate electronically and in person with users to determine and document problems experienced
- Consult user guides technical manuals and other documents to research and implement solutions
- Provide advice and training to users in response to identified difficulties
- Collect organize and maintain a problems and solutions log for use by other technical support analysts
- Install maintain troubleshoot and upgrade network server hardware and software
- Implement network traffic and security monitoring software and optimize server performance
- Ensure security management of systems and data
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
- Conduct tests and perform security and quality controls
- Control and monitor e-mail use Web navigation and installed software
- Experience with local and wide area networks ability to implement network configurations and work with network providers to diagnose and resolve problems
- Advise on the selection and evaluation of automated systems electronic technology software/hardware
- Undertake special projects and other related duties as assigned
- Participate in cross-functional committees as required
QualificationsRequired:
- College diploma or degree in computer programming network administration or related field
- Minimum 5 years direct experience in IT systems administration
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with network cabling (Cat5e/Cat6 fiber optic)
- Proven experience with Microsoft Server administration (2019/2022/2025)
- Expertise in virtual machine management (VMware or Hyper-V)
- Proficiency in Office 365 administration including Exchange Online SharePoint Teams and Azure AD
- Strong working knowledge of Fortinet products (FortiGate FortiSwitch FortiAP)
- Security first mindset at all times.
- Strong work ethic; able to work productively with minimum supervision or collaboratively in a team
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills
- Valid BC Drivers license and own vehicle (required for travel between sites)
- Ability to work Tuesday to Saturday schedule
- Always moving forward.
Preferred:
- Microsoft server certification
- Fortinet NSE certification
- Office 365 certifications (MS-900 MS-100 MS-101)
- Experience in multi-site IT environments
