STRIVE Recruitment is currently hiring a  CNC programmer  for a growing tool fabrication shop in NewMarket, ON. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a mechanical background who thrives in a team-focused environment. This organization is one of the world-leading manufactures in the industry.

  • Days 7 : 30-4 : 30 Monday - Thursday, 7 : 30 - 2pm Fridays

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs (often using PowerMill software)
  • Perform setup and operation of 5-axis CNC machines and Horizontal Boring Mills, specifically with Heidenhain controls.
  • Read and interpret complex 3D and 2D engineering models and technical drawings to determine proper machining techniques, tolerances, and tool paths.
  • Choose appropriate cutting tools, calculate speeds / feeds to optimize performance, and use pre-setters for tool gage lengths.
  • Ensure high-precision, close-tolerance components are produced, performing in-process dimensional verification and final inspections.
  • Perform daily maintenance and troubleshooting on machines and programs to ensure safety and efficiency.

    • REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment is typically required.
  • Strong experience with  PowerMill  is highly desired.
  • Experience with  Heidenhain controls  and  DMG DMU 5-axis  machines is considered a significant asset.
  • Proficient in reading 3D / 2D engineering drawings
  • Good communication skills
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office is an asset
