Job Overview : The Environmental Specialist at StandardAero will play a crucial role in managing and enhancing our environmental practices to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing environmental policies and procedures, conducting assessments, and promoting sustainability initiatives across our operations.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Compliance Management : Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and standards. Monitor and report on environmental performance and compliance metrics. Prepare and submit environmental reports, permits, and documentation as required.
  • Environmental Program Development : Develop, implement, and maintain environmental policies, procedures, and management systems. Lead efforts to reduce waste, emissions, and energy consumption through innovative strategies and technologies.
  • Assessment and Monitoring : Conduct environmental assessments, audits, and inspections to identify potential risks and areas for improvement. Analyze data and report on environmental performance, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions.
  • Training and Awareness : Provide training and support to employees on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices. Promote awareness of environmental issues and foster a culture of sustainability within the organization.
  • Project Management : Lead or support environmental projects and initiatives, including waste reduction programs, energy efficiency projects, and sustainability efforts. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement environmental improvements and innovations.
  • External Relations : Liaise with regulatory agencies, environmental organizations, and community stakeholders on environmental matters. Stay informed about emerging environmental regulations, technologies, and trends to ensure proactive compliance and best practices.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering (Environmental, MechE, ChE, Biosystems), or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in environmental or a related role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Proven project management skills and experience leading environmental initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001. Auditor or lead auditor experience a plus.
