The Burnaby School District is recruiting for FULL-TIME HVAC Technicians. This position installs, services, and repairs a variety of heating and ventilation systems to ensure a safe and healthy environment in District buildings and facilities.
The HVAC Technician installs services, repairs and inspects heating and ventilating equipment by calibrating and repairing pneumatic and electronic controls and thermostats, including DDC systems, and works with computer software (programming and scheduling) for automated heating and ventilating systems as required. The position also liaises with district staff on a variety of issues related to indoor air quality, heating and cooling of district buildings and facilities.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Completion of Grade 12
- British Columbia Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Certificate and Gasfitter's Certificate (Class B) (class A is preferred) Trades Qualification (TQ)
- Restricted electrical ticket is an asset
- Four years related work experience as a Journeyperson in HVAC (post TQ) service coupled with boiler maintenance and DDC/building automation experience is required
- Valid B.C. Driver's License (Class 5)
- Thorough knowledge of current techniques, methods, procedures and equipment applicable to HVAC trade, plus computerized control software applications and equipment is required
We are looking for a self-starter with an ability to organize daily tasks, work independently and as a member of a team. Demonstrated ability to work at the level of independence and with the degree of initiative appropriate to the position is also required.
This position pays $99,467 gross/year ($47.56 per hour); complemented by a comprehensive benefits package which includes:
