Source Atlantic Limited, located in Saint John, NB , is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Lead to oversee all accounts payable operations. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient vendor payment processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and leading a team of AP professionals to achieve operational excellence and financial accuracy. The Accounts Payable Lead will report directly to theDirector of Treasury.
Responsibilities :
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounts payable team
- Establish clear performance goals, priorities, and departmental objectives
- Create and maintain succession planning and cross-training programs for critical roles
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and development
- Foster a collaborative team environment focused on accuracy, accountability, and efficiency
Operational Excellence
Oversee all accounts payable transactions and processes,including reconciliation of critical accountsAdminister the corporate credit card programManage vendor setup and banking processesCreate and process payment disbursementsDevelop and track key performance indicators, including :Invoice processing timelinessEnsure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsAd hoc reporting as requiredProcess Improvement & Systems Management
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize procure-to-pay processesLead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costsParticipate in system upgrades, implementations, and testingDevelop and maintain comprehensive process documentation and proceduresProactively identify and implement best practices in AP operationsQualifications :
Must have a Business Administration diploma with a concentration in accountingMinimum 5 years’ experience in a finance role, including inventory managementProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)Strong time management, analytical, and organizational skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to build and maintain strong team and vendor relationshipsHigh attention to detail and a strong sense of urgencyExperience with ERP systems and AP automation tools is an assetAbility to work collaboratively across departments and manage competing prioritiesSecure your place in our dynamic, permanent team, where long-term growth meets everyday impact.
