What you will be doing :
- Providing guidance on all personnel matters to the management and leadership teams in areas such as recruitment, labour relations, attendance management, compensation, employee engagement, training and development, interpretation of the CBA, health and safety, among other areas.
- Supporting the improvement and strategic development of HR policies and procedures
- Coach clients and liaise with unions on labour relations concerns such as performance / attendance management, displacement, discipline and other areas.
- Facilitates the management and investigation of union grievances through the appropriate processes
- Oversee Return to Work processes
- Participate in various internal and external / regional committees related the human resources and / or client business such as Regional Workforce Planning, Redesign Committees / Councils, labour / management, team and industry meetings.
- Maintain knowledge of HR best practices and industry standards by attending HR seminars or conferences, remain current on trainings and certifications and keeping updated on changes in HR legislation, polices and by reviewing relevant journals, reports and publications.
Who you are :
You have a relevant Bachelor / Masters degree in a related field,You have at least five years of progressively senior human resource experienceYou have significant experience in a large, complex unionized environment (must have!)You have strong knowledge of employment legislationYou have a thorough understanding of Collective Bargaining Agreements.You stay current on human resources management principles and best practices.You are a relationship builderYou possess strong communication skillsYou work well with a collaborative teamThe successful candidate will be rewarded with a generous compensation package (base salary + / - $90k), and will be joining a team that is proud of the great work their organization does to improve the lives of British Columbians.
