We’re looking for a
Sheet Metal Estimator / Project Manager to join a well-established mechanical contractor in the commercial construction industry.
Our client is a reputable Calgary-based contractor recognized for delivering high-quality commercial sheet metal and HVAC construction across a wide range of building projects. Their work includes tenant improvements, mixed-use buildings, schools, restaurants, universities, CRUs, and the everyday spaces people live and work in.
This role is ideal for someone who combines hands-on estimating expertise with project management experience in commercial sheet metal construction. You will be involved from bid preparation through project handover, supporting successful delivery from start to finish.
Responsibilities - Prepare detailed sheet metal estimates for commercial construction projects
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents
- Perform material take-offs and labor calculations
- Utilize AutoBid software to develop accurate and competitive bids
- Analyze supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Collaborate with project managers and operations teams during bid handover
- Support project execution with practical project management insight
- Maintain organized estimating files and documentation
The Successful Candidate Has - 4+ years of experience in commercial sheet metal estimating and project management
- Technical diploma, trade background, or equivalent industry experience
- Strong knowledge of HVAC and sheet metal systems in building construction
- Experience on projects such as tenant improvements, mixed-use buildings, schools, restaurants, universities, and CRUs
- Experience estimating projects valued from $10K to $3M+ CAD
- Familiarity with AutoBid or similar estimating software
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bid deadlines
Compensation and Benefits - Salary range: $100,000 – $120,000 CAD, depending on experience
