Joinery (Bench) Cabinetmaker/Millworker

An established commercial and multi-family residential millwork construction company is looking for an experienced Joinery (Bench) Cabinetmaker / Millworker with skills and experience in specialty wood joinery, preparation and interpretation of shop drawings, assembly and veneering.

This position produces the custom components that go into many high end architectural residential and commercial millwork projects in the local BC and North American market.

To be successful in this position you need to be an organized, dependable individual that can read detailed drawings and operate precision production equipment.

To maintain established quality standards, you must have an eye for detail and proven math skills. On a daily basis you will be working with drawings and documentation describing customer provided designs that are ornate and intricate.

To meet production requirements, you will need to be able to interpret requirements and produce project components to specifications.

This is a craftsman position requiring focused specialty skillsets working with solid wood, wood composites and veneers to make high quality architectural millwork.

Ideally you have formal training in joinery (preferably through an apprenticeship or post-secondary program) and at least 3 to 5 years of experience using joinery skills in a millwork / custom woodwork operation.

Experience using computer aided drafting software such as AutoCAD, with a good working knowledge of AWI architectural woodworking standards.
