Summary
The Materials Manager will, under limited supervision, manage and coordinate the activities of the Materials department in accordance with stated policies, procedures and departmental goals. They will do this by overseeing operations and executing tasks as necessary relative to materials scheduling, customer service, shipping, receiving, distribution, supply chain management and production scheduling, either directly or through subordinate managers, to ensure achievement of company goals and objectives. This position participates fully in department initiatives and the coaching, training and mentoring of the department team members. This position will work closely with the plant and operations managers.

Job Duties
System Maintenance on ECN's, NAFTA's, MRP and CMS Inventory accuracySet-up / maintain all new production related purchased items in CMS (AS / 400 database)Maintain price lists in CMS for all purchased itemsWork with Corporate Purchasing to maintain Commodity code accuracy on purchased itemsSet-up / maintain Blanket PO's for production related itemsObtain new supplier information and submit requests for new vendors to Corporate purchasingObtain and ensure valid supplier certifications are on file at all times (ISO / TS / Enviro.14001)Initiate request for supplier PPAP's for new items and engineering changesWork with Quality Engineer, Corporate Quality Specialist and Supplier on supplier quality issues. (Ensure that production is protected) Work with supplier to set up 3 rd party sorts and returns if required. Issue debit memo and track corrective action from supplier. Input supplier non-conformances into FNG PLMWork with Corporate purchasing, Market test purchased items for production for cost savingsWork with Corporate purchasing to review and analyze submitted quotations, understand costing, negotiate with vendorsCorporate reporting to Director of Purchasing (Metals Divisions); participate in conference callsWork with Engineer as a liaison with supplier for cost savings and continuous improvements projectsParticipate in APQP meetingsKeep up to date with system changes and training requirements related to job dutiesArrange Freight and TruckingUpdate supplier rating charts and issue yearlyAttend daily production meetingsSupplier interface-Telephone, email, faxFile all documentationOversee Materials Coordinator in their daily functionsSpecial duties as requiredRequirements
