Description de posteOperating ice resurfacers (Zamboni), flooding of ice, and operating the ice edger to carry out ice maintenance. Observing and recording ice plant readings and maintaining or reporting any malfunctions. Performing regular general clean‑up and maintenance of all recreation facilities, including community green spaces and other related duties as per the job description. Working days, afternoons and weekend shift work as a full‑time employee. Grade 12 graduate or equivalent. Valid Class 5 MB Driver’s License. Certification in Ice Plant Operation through the Department of Labour (Refrigeration or 4th Class Power Engineer ticket as a minimum). Ability to operate equipment as per the job description.

The City of Thompson is accepting applications for the full‑time position of Ice Plant Operator. The successful candidate will be a Grade 12 graduate or equivalent, possess a valid Class 5 MB Driver’s License and have the ability to operate equipment as per the job description. The incumbent will possess certification in Ice Plant Operation through the Department of Labour (Refrigeration or 4th Class Power Engineer ticket as a minimum).

Position is conditional upon successful passing of a Criminal Records Check and Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks.
