Position : Electrical Controls Engineer – based in Ajax, ON. This is an open vacancy. The role is hybrid : for the first 6 months the incumbent will be expected to be in the office at least 3 days per week.
Compensation : $60,000 to $110,000, based on qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities
Technical lead in Swegon North American building automation solutions, including heating‑cooling plant control, integration with VRF solutions, and ventilation system control.Collaborate with Swegon Control product development teams in the application of HVAC control systems for the North American market.Act as subject matter expert on North American codes and standards, working closely with the control development team for compliance.Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Applications, Engineering, Service) to define technical requirements and develop project specifications.Analyze and troubleshoot control systems, resolving technical problems and providing innovative solutions.Integrate various building systems using protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, and others.Investigate electrical and electronic issues and recommend corrective actions.Qualifications And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline with extensive control experience.5+ years of experience; solid understanding of BAS systems and communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet).Extensive experience in HVAC control solutions.Familiarity with low‑voltage (Proficiency in interpreting and developing control schematics and layouts.Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license or equivalent certification is preferred.Skills & Attributes
