About the Role
- Full-time Financial Controller overseeing all accounting and finance functions for a local civil and materials contractor with 3 different operations
- Works closely with the VP and President in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
- Mix of day-to-day accounting, financial leadership, and special projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support the accounting / finance team.Oversee a small team of finance professionals.Prepare monthly interim financial statements.Develop annual budgets and perform regular variance analysis.Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and KPIs; highlight risks and opportunities.Implement and maintain strong internal controls.Reconcile bank accounts, intercompany accounts, HST, and other government remittances.Prepare year-end working papers for external accountants.Recommend improvements to financial processes and standard operating procedures.Qualifications
CPA designation required.2-3 years of experience in related industries would be an asset (construction preferred)Strong computer skills; experience with Jonas and QuickBooks is an asset.Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).What We Offer
