Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree from an accredited university with a minimum of 3‑5 years of structural analysis and design experience in steel and concrete structures in nuclear power plants and / or industrial buildings.
• Master’s degree and above is an asset.
• 1 to 2 years of site or field experience in nuclear power plants and / or industrial buildings is an asset.
• Deep and thorough understanding of structural engineering gained through a combination of design office and site experience.
• Thorough knowledge of Canadian and international codes and standards used in civil / structural engineering.
• Proficiency with analysis software commonly used in civil / structural engineering such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, etc.
• Knowledge of the modification process of nuclear power plants (ECP process or similar) is an asset.
• Knowledge of static, dynamic and seismic analysis of structures and foundations.
• Strong time‑management and prioritization skills.
• Effective organizational skills.
• Adequate knowledge of established nuclear QA guidelines, procedures and practices is preferable.
• Adequate knowledge of applicable nuclear safety codes and regulations is an asset.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Ability to work effectively under tight schedules and budgets.
• Eligible for security clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).
• Travel to client sites is required.
