Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team in Barrie, Ontario. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to apply your financial expertise while supporting a great organization in not for profit industry. Responsibilities :

• Manage and oversee agreements and ensure all documentation complies with organizational standards.
• Process utility invoices and maintain accurate records for fiscal reporting.
• Prepare and balance monthly financial statements and ensure alignment with accounting systems.
• Import and reconcile spreadsheets in accounting software to process monthly payments to landlords.
• Coordinate the preparation and submission of budgets and related financial documentation.
• Provide backup support for payroll processing, including bi-weekly payroll preparation, remittances, and reconciliation of benefits payments.
• Assist staff with inquiries and liaise with partners to ensure smooth operations.
• Support accounts payable functions, including processing staff expenses and issuing payments.
• Collaborate with management and team members to ensure efficient and coordinated service delivery.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including ERP platforms.
• Strong experience with payroll processing, including remittances and reconciliation.
• Familiarity with accounts payable and invoice management.
• Knowledge of housing programs and financial processes related to rent supplements.
• Ability to manage and analyze financial data with exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience working with community partners and landlords with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
• Competence in preparing budgets and financial reports.
• Strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
